Quiet morning

So I spent all day yesterday laying on the couch.  Even with the nausea medication, I would throw up if standing for longer than 5 minutes.  Or even sitting up really.  So laying it was.  I got a lot of my book read.

So this morning I'm feeling better, but not completely great.  Thankfully the kids have been quiet.  I've needed that.

They were quietly playing together and then I realized that I wasn't hearing much from Patrick anymore, so I looked over and saw this.  Awwwwwwwww
And Erin is playing origami with my Sunflower ad.  She's not making anything specific though.

Another picture of Skittles

This was done with an older machine so it isn't as clear
My first official OB appointment was today, and it was a lot of paperwork, mostly.  Turns out that my progesterone was more than a "little" low, it was quite low.  She wants it around 20 and mine was 9.7.  So please continue to pray for Skittles and that the prometrium I'm on will do it's job.  For those wondering, progesterone is the hormone that tells my body not to have a period, so low levels increase risk for miscarriage.  I'm trying to remain positive since Skittles appears to be doing fabulously (heart was beating strongly and everything looks great).  But sometimes there's such thing as too much information and I wish she hadn't told me the actual number.

Anyway, hopefully nothing new will be happening on that front in a while!  I'd prefer things like pregnancy to be boring.

Audrei!!

So a couple months ago Audrei called me up and told me she could get a cheap ticket to fly out here to visit, and I told her to buy it.  She got in Friday evening.  So yesterday we went as a family with her to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and then spent a little time downtown too.

Audrei and the kids in the back of the car, on the way to the museum
Patrick wearing Audrei's gloves...because he thought they were cool.
Erin wanted to walk, but Patrick didn't like it when I was going to have him walk.  He tried to buckle himself back in, and was almost successful.
Audrei and Erin were buddies.  Erin kept telling her all about animals and what they were doing.  She's a fairly entertaining little girl.
Audrei was really excited about the manatees.
Cassowaries.  Made me think of Mom.  lol
Erin took this picture.  The carvings were made completely of gems.
Headed into the prehistoric exhibit (no strollers allowed and Patrick was mad)
Have I mentioned that Erin loves dinosaurs?
Looking at the prehistoric undersea stuff.  Patrick wasn't impressed.
 The Diplodacus.  Seriously huge.
Audrei "flirting" with the advertisement of the next special exhibit coming in March ("Real Pirates")
Erin and Audrei at dinner downtown.  Erin loves Audrei's phone.
In walking back down 16th street, we passed some carriages and one driver let Erin pet him.  She was SO excited, but so intimidated too.

Along with Erin loving Audrei's phone....Audrei has a lightsaber on hers.

Letters

Erin loves to "color" her letters.  So I bought a thing to work on writing letters other than H or O.  lol

Well, this is what came of our time together today.

Meet Skittles

I had a bleeding scare this weekend, so my Dr. got me in for an ultrasound this morning.  There was no clear reason for the bleeding and everything looks great!  Skittles was measuring a day behind (6w3d) and had a heartbeat!! YAY!  Heart rate was 133bpm.

And I got a little picture
The little balloon shape is the yolk sack and the blob below it is Skittles. S/he is about the size of a pea.

I'm not feeling like captioning these, sorry.

So, how are you feeling?

That's the question I keep getting.  And with my history of severe sickness and valid one.

The answer is I'm not nearly as sick as I've been expecting.  I still get waves of nausea, and I am so incredibly exhausted, but I'm able to eat a fair amount when I decide what sounds edible.

And it's had me really freaked out.  I've spoken to enough women who have had miscarriages to know many times the symptoms aren't as strong for a pregnancy that won't stick.  So I've been skating just barely on the sane side of terrified.

But I had an "ah-ha" moment this morning.  With both Cora and Erin I was working, and at jobs I didn't particularly enjoy.  I wasn't working with Patrick, but Matt was out of state on an internship and I was a single mom.

I don't have any of that stress this go around, and we're much more financially stable as well.  I think that that has had a real impact on my sickness level.  Don't get me wrong, I'm still fairly nauseated.  I'm sure it's enough to have anyone else complaining.  But for me, I feel great considering what my other pregnancies have been.  And identifying the stress thing has made me feel much better on an emotional level.

Now if we can just get to the ultrasound on the 17th and see a heartbeat, I'll be much more relaxed for a while.

Out with the old, in with the new

I got this idea from a friend of mine.  Let's have a year in review.

2010 was good to us

January: I donated my hair to Locks of Love and Patrick learned to stand on his own.

February: Patrick learned to walk and had his first birthday.

March:  My friend Aubrey, her husband, and her daughters Myla and Savannah come to visit! I had my 27th birthday, though it was apparently nothing spectacular because I don't have a blog post about it. =Þ

April: Aunt Adrienne and cousins Marcus and Jamesen come to visit for a week.

May:  We celebrate Cora's 4th birthday without her, set up a patio garden, had a late snow fall, set up an aquarium for Erin, and made our first trip of the year to the splash park.

June: We took our first trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, Erin had her 3rd birthday, we celebrated our 5th anniversary in Las Vegas, and took a trip to the Grand Canyon with my high school friends.

July: Matt had his 28th birthday, but again it didn't warrant a blog post.  We had a lot of trips to the park, and the splash park, and Myla and Savannah came to visit again.

August: Matt's company had a bbq in the mountains, and I started working on Halloween costumes.  We played a lot, and had a meet up with an online friend.

September:  I got a new sister!  And though I got a lot of pictures of the wedding...I didn't blog about it.  I spent a lot of time in September sewing.

October:  Matt and I start going to the chiropractor (one of the best decisions I've ever made), we participated in the annual Walk To Remember for the second time, we enjoyed the fall weather, and went to two Halloween parties.

November: We went down to visit Myla and Savannah for Thanksgiving.

December:  I found out I'm pregnant, and we had a snowless Christmas.

So what's coming up in the new year for us?  We're moving out of our apartment in June.  We're not sure where to yet, but we've only signed a 6 month lease.  And in August we're going to have a new baby!
