Ward campout and zoo day

Friday night was our ward campout.  We only went up for the dinner since the kids were acting sicky (stuffy/runny noses) and my back was kind of spasming.  There was another ward there (the land is owned by the Church) doing their fathers&sons campout.  Patrick was fascinated by the paper air-powered rockets.
Erin and Patrick love their toddler sized camp chairs!
I told Matt I needed a picture of  me since I'm always left out! lol  ((and then I forgot to take a pic of him!))
Since we didn't camp out we decided to go to the zoo Saturday morning.  Erin was so excited to have Daddy come along.
Patrick was too interested in his raisins to want to take a picture.
The lions were let out right as we got there, so they were pretty active, investigating their territory and telling people they were around.
We arrived at bird world right in time for the penguin feeding.  That was a lot of fun.  It was interesting to see the different personalities of the birds.
A baby came wandering out of the nest cave and mama ran right over to usher it back inside.  It was cute.
This guy is the "old man" penguin.  He's as old as me!
The pink cockatoo came up to say hi to Erin.
There was a zookeeper talking about bird eggs and Erin got to touch and ostrich egg and an emu egg (that were empty of course). She was so excited, and then started talking about how she loves scrambled eggs. >_<
Erin loved the flamingos. She's been trying to stand on one foot like one since.
Gorillas always seem so forlorn.
And the best part of going to the zoo in May and June?  The BABIES!
And just for fun, a video taken a while back while we were having dinner at Red Lobster.  Our waiter brought a lobster from the tank to show Erin.  Patrick touched it, Erin didn't like that idea.  lol
