Party!

We had some friends get together today to celebrate Allison's birthday on Monday.  It was fun!

Allison loved her cupcake

She wasn't too thrilled with the idea of opening presents though

She played for a bit

And then she totally crashed and is completely passed out right now.  Here's hoping for a good nap!

First day of school!

Erin has been SO excited.  I swear she's been talking about going to school for the last year.  And today was finally the day!

I'll admit I cried.  Part of it was that she was so excited when the door opened for her to go in, she didn't really say bye to me, and my feelings were a little hurt. (yeah, not the most logical thing in the world, but...oh well)

After Allison and Patrick and I went walking around the lake, we came home and while Allison slept, Patrick and I water colored.  He missed Erin, and kept telling me we should go get her, but I managed to keep him entertained.

And then it was time to go get Erin. (the boy stepped in front of her right as I took the pic)

And she skipped to the car.  She had a great first day, and is excited to go back tomorrow (especially since tomorrow is library day and she gets to check out a book!)

So we both survived the first day!  I think I missed her more than she missed me, but that's the way it's supposed to be, right?

Michigan

We had a lot of fun on our trip to Michigan, even though it took 2 days in a car either way.  But they had lots to do

 During the we we were there, Erin played Rock Band with her uncles

 we went to a lake

 Allison discovered blueberries

 We visited Frankenmuth, MI, home of Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland (yes, they add that empasis)

 Played in the kiddie pool (it was so humid it fogged my camera!)

 Did some fireworks

 Went to a children's museum

  Hung out with Grandma and Grandpa (Patrick wasn't happy about the whole picture idea)

 Went to Matt's high school Brian's party

 And then made the trek back home.

It was a really fun trip, but really exhausting!

Then for dinner we had friends over for pizza and (cup)cake

And presents of course

Erin is so excited to be 5!
